Case 7 (A, B) - Severe hypotension and fever > 38ºC during aplastic phase following intensive therapy
Child, 12 years old, female, affected by HR-ALL. At day +150 she presented a severe hypotension during the aplastic phase following intensive therapy (Block 3 including high dose Ara-C and VP-16). At the same time fever started to increase over 38ºC.
A - What would you do when hypotension occurs in a granulocytopenic (ANC < 1,000/µl) patient?
1. Give catecholamines
2. Give fluids
3. Give G-CSF
4. Give broad spectrum antibiotics including Gram negative
5. Give antifungal compounds
