The PanCare PLAIN language summaries are now available in Dutch!
ℹ️ The PLAIN summaries offer reliable, easy-to-read information about late effects and recommendations for long-term follow-up care. Written in accessible PLAIN language, they support survivors, their families and friends, and non-specialist healthcare providers to better understand late effects and the surveillance recommended to monitor them. What began as an English resource has grown into a European collection — with translations in Italian, Hungarian, Spanish, Greek, and now Dutch!
🌟 A big thank you to the Princess Máxima Center for making this Dutch translation possible!
The recommendations in the PLAIN summaries are based on the annually updated PanCarPanCareFollowUp guidelines for the surveillance of late effects – also available on the PanCare website. The English version of the PLAIN summaries was originally developed within the EU-funded project PanCareFollowUp and refined in the EU co-funded project EU-CAYAS-NET.
The English version of the PLAIN summaries was developed within the EU-funded projects PanCareFollowUp and EU-CAYAS-NET as described by van den Oever (2024) et al. in “From long-term follow-up Recommendations for clinical practice to plain language summaries for childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors”. The PLAIN summaries are based on the PanCareFollowUp recommendations for surveillance of late effects of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer as described by van Kalsbeek et al. (2021).
