Desiree Grabow is a founding member of PanCare and holds a doctoral degree in epidemiology. She is Deputy Head of the Division of Childhood Cancer Epidemiology, German Childhood Cancer Registry (GCCR) at Institute of Medical Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics, University Medical Centre Mainz at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz.
At GCCR, she is Lead of the Long-term surveillance of GCCR: Planning, Coordination, Conduct and Analysis of GCCR-Routines and Projects with external Collaboration partners; Focus on Epidemiology of late effects after childhood cancer; long-term surveillance of former childhood cancer patients in Germany (cohort of 40,000 patients).
With Riccardo Haupt and Kylie O´Brien she is forming the Management Team of the latest PanCare project, PanCareSurPass, which is about implementing the Survivorship Passport in six European Countries (2021-2025). Desiree is the Coordinator, with overall responsibility for the smooth running of the project. She will also lead the data centre in WP4, overseeing data collection, quality assurance and analysis of the implementation study data.
Desiree was part of the Management Team of the former PanCare EU-Project, PanCareLIFE, and lead of the Work-Package for Datacollection and Harmonization of the PanCareSurFup EU-Project.
Serving for the PanCare Executive Board enables exchange and synergies between the scientific running PanCare projects and the central organisation and activities of the PanCare Network.
