Professor of Late Effects in Pediatric Oncology

Professor Leontien Kremer, MD PhD (PhD 2001 Anthracycline cardiotoxicity) is trained in paediatrics and in clinical epidemiology. She is Professor of late effects in pediatric oncology in the Princess Maxima Center for pediatric oncology. Her research is designed on gaps in knowledge identified in guidelines or clinical care, and results will be implemented in guidelines to improve the quality of care. She is focusing on research for survivors of childhood cancer in the Netherlands and internationally. The Dutch LATER study is a study on health outcomes in more than 6000 survivors in The Netherlands.

Leontien is active in PanCare (Pan-European Network for Care of Survivors after Childhood and Adolescent Cancer). She was a partner in PanCareSurFup (cardiac disease and guidelines), in PanCareLIFE, PanCareSurPass, and is the coordinator of PanCareFollowUp, focusing on care for survivors in Europe.

Furthermore, she is the co-chair of the International Guideline Harmonization Group on surveillance for late effects after childhood cancer
